The ill effects of BPA have been widely reported over the last 15 years but, surprisingly, only child-related products have been regulated. Other products such as plastic containers for food and beverages are still produced with BPA and assume a "buyer-beware" approach — and many consumers are not aware of the potential risks. Research has shown that BPA is an endocrine disruptor and has been linked to reproductive disorders, breast and prostate cancers, Type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. While government guidance suggests that these risks are minimal, some studies show otherwise.

In an abundance of caution, Procedure Products has launched its Freedom line of syringes that contain no-BPA. Given the potential for BPA leaching into the bloodstream through syringes, especially when administering critical meds for neonatal and cancer patients, our philosophy is why not make a safe, no-BPA syringe for the same cost and availability as traditional polycarbonates?
